Scope of Work:

Install a 15ft trailer equipped with 800HP Boiler that meets NY standards/codes as a back up to existing boilers at Maimonides Hospital

Our project involved several critical steps to ensure the successful installation and operation of a temporary boiler system for the hospital. First, we obtained all necessary permits and coordinated with the hospital to schedule street and sidewalk closures. The trailer containing the boiler was delivered and leveled on January 31st, 2024. For pedestrian safety, we installed a sidewalk bridge and protective fencing. The chimney stack was erected, and pipes were fabricated and installed up to the boiler room level.

On March 3rd, we conducted a planned steam shutdown from 5 am to 8 pm to install an isolation valve on the 8th-floor steam run. This valve allows the 8th floor’s steam supply to be isolated while enabling the mobile boiler to provide steam to the entire hospital. We completed the piping from the air shaft to the trailer outlets and added a temporary oil tank to supply fuel to the boiler. All piping was insulated to prevent condensation and protect pedestrians.

Additionally, we ran a power supply to a disconnect panel capable of providing emergency power if needed. A temporary electrical tank gauging system was installed to monitor the oil level in the tank. These measures ensured that the temporary boiler system was fully operational and capable of meeting the hospital’s steam requirements safely and efficiently.
