Multi-system Integration for Improved Monitoring and Control
Client Background
Analog Devices is a global leader in analog, mixed-signal, and DSP integrated circuits. Despite their technological expertise, the company faced significant operational challenges due to an antiquated Invensys building management system. This outdated infrastructure limited visibility, created inefficiencies, and increased operational risk across multiple systems on their manufacturing campus.
Challenge
The legacy BMS lacked flexibility and integration capabilities, making it difficult to monitor and control multiple systems effectively. As a result, Analog Devices struggled with inefficiencies and had limited ability to optimize facility performance, leaving them vulnerable to rising costs and operational disruptions.
Solution
Mantis Innovation implemented a comprehensive, open-protocol solution designed for scalability and ease of use. Our team installed five JACE master controllers and deployed a web-enabled Niagara N4 platform to centralize control and enable real-time monitoring. We integrated multiple systems across diverse communication bus architectures, ensuring seamless connectivity. To empower the client’s team, we delivered custom-built graphics and hands-on training, improving in-house capabilities and future-proofing their facility management strategy.
Results & Impact
The modernization of Analog Devices’ BMS delivered measurable improvements in efficiency, visibility, and control. The updated system now accurately monitors and manages multiple systems across the campus, while integrated networks ensure smooth communication between devices. With enhanced in-house capabilities, the client can maintain optimal performance and respond proactively to operational needs.
