Greening a 400-building, 20M sq ft portfolio to meet increased emission reduction standards
PROJECT SNAPSHOT
Mantis Innovation supported the City of Washington, D.C. in its carbon reduction initiative by identifying 107 viable buildings for energy efficiency improvements using roofing and energy data. We coordinated a broad sustainability strategy that included implementing daylighting to reduce energy consumption, installing rooftop solar for green power generation, enhancing insulation for improved energy efficiency, converting dark roofs to cool roofs for better heat reflection, and adding vegetative roofs for stormwater management. Additionally, we trained a local workforce to maintain these sustainability measures and supported community programs like Roofs That Teach to educate students on sustainable building practices.
