Recently, Mantis Innovation completed roof, pavement, and HVAC assessments for Family Tree at four Denver Metro area facilities. These assessments provided critical insights into how these facility assets are performing and how to manage them over time to reduce cost and improve performance and safety for their guests.
The work resulted from the Connex Foundation’s 2025 Annual Spring IMPACT Charity Project, which uses the talent and resources of multi-site facilities management professionals from ConnexFM/The Multi-Site Facilities Management Network to support a non-profit organization in maintaining and repairing its facility. The Connex Foundation believes that removing the facility maintenance and repair burden allows non-profits to effectively carry out their mission to support and impact their local community.
Family Tree is a non-profit human services agency providing innovative, life-changing services designed to end child abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness.
Rooted in the Metro Denver community since 1976, Family Tree recognizes the intersection among child abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness. Based on their expertise, they change how individuals, families, and communities prevent and overcome these challenges across generations.
The Connex Foundation is a 501c3 organization and the philanthropic entity of the ConnexFM Association. Connex Impact!, the original charity project, and educational scholarships are the tactical forces behind the Connex Foundation. The foundation empowers the multi-site facilities industry and expands its ability to execute local charity projects, provide scholarships, and elevate the industry as a whole in an effort to shrink the skilled trades gap.
The assessments by Mantis provided facility data that gives Family Tree a better understanding of the conditions of its roof, pavement, and HVAC systems. They also included a budget forecast that includes repair and replacement recommendations that will extend the lives of these assets and lead to a lower total cost of ownership over time.
Director of Volunteer Engagement at Family Tree Rebekah Hawthorne, CVA, said of the project, “Family Tree extends our sincere gratitude to Mantis Innovation for conducting a comprehensive facility survey at GOALS family shelter. We are incredibly impressed with the level of detail in your report and appreciate the time and expertise you dedicated to this effort. The insights you provided will be invaluable as we plan and implement improvements to better serve the families in our care. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to creating safer, more efficient spaces for our community.”
We at Mantis are proud to support this vital Denver resource for families in need. We are thankful for the Connex Foundation’s invitation to participate in this year’s IMPACT Charity Project.
